If you know me, you know that I pretty big into white chocolate. It does’t matter if it is classified as white chocolate, white cream, white fudge… you catch my drift. In all honesty, I prefer the white chocolate alternative over milk chocolate.
The greatest of all time? White Reese’s. Do I think this will give this a run for it’s money? Not even close. But if it says “white” I am going to try it and judge the hell out of it. So…Mars Chocolate….I hope you got this right. Let’s do it.
THE REVIEW
Ok, so to begin, everyone likes Snickers Bars. I mean it may not be your go to but you like them… don’t even try to deny it. Here in the USA we have gotten used to different varieties of the classical milk chocolate coating. To name a few, Snickers Peanut Butter (Snickers GOAT in my opinion), Snickers Hazelnut, Snickers Crispy, Snickers Expresso…you catch my drift. But really, this was a game changer for us here in the USA.
So to elaborate a little more on the paragraph above, White Snickers really isn’t new. It is just new here in the USA. White Snickers seems to have a lot of hype in Europe where this has been an item available for purchase for a little bit. I have seen these in overseas foodie posts on the Gram and was always curious to try it…so curious that I almost have brought myself to purchase them off of Amazon and pay $15 shipping (Probably over exaggerating). I know, you are wondering… “Well now that you have tried it, would it be had been worth it?” The answer, honestly? No.
I could tolerate this candy bar every now and then. But despite my love for the white confection, I probably will not end up buying this again. The white chocolate, or cream if you will, was not impressive almost at all. It really did not reflect any of Mars other white chocolates… for instance…I do enjoy White Twix Bars. I am sure the white chocolate was the same, but the combination made it pop more. This Snicker Bar and the white around it was almost yellow… probably should have called it Snickers Yellow or something like that. It definitely wasn’t as good as a Zero Bar that is made with White Fudge….leagues below White Reese’s.
The filling, despite the disappointing chocolate around this bar, was just as you would see and taste in a regular milk chocolate Snickers bar. Milk chocolate around the Snickers combination is just better… however, if they would have coated this thing with Hershey’s white confection, it would have been hard to beat. It might have just been up there with Zero. However, that wasn’t the case.
If you want any other information about what a Snicker Bar tastes like or are having trouble with the comparison to the milk chocolate and white chocolate Snickers, my best suggestion is to go ahead and get them both. The White Snickers is only good for trying one time just to see what it is like, however, I would really prefer a Snickers Original and go with milk chocolate with this one. Mars… you’ve been disappointing me lately. Review is a wrap.
Disregarding the epic Snickers filling and its almost irresistible combination, the White Snickers did not live up to its hype here in the States in comparison to its legend of a brother in the original. Mars definitely could’ve done better, but if you are a white chocolate lover, I guess it is worth a try…maybe? I give White Snickers a 4/10.
